After filling up on fresh bananas from the fruit trees, our scientists noticed the alligators from the lagoon were sneaking their way toward them. They learned and utilized an engineering process to make traps that could catch the alligators. All of their traps were so unique! Some of them even used simple machines. Once the alligators were safely trapped, we had to figure out how to get them back safely into the lagoon. Using what they just learned about simple machines, our scientists used a base, lever, and fulcrum to make a catapult and sent those alligators flying back to the lagoon.
With one more adventurous day in store, will our scientists be able to get off the island?
Monkey Island is a STEM based enrichment class developed by Monkey Bizness. It is the first addition to our Monkey Bizness University program. We still have space available in our July class and you can sign up here: http://www.centennial.monkeybizness.com/monkey-island/
